WHO IS THE CCREC?

The Citrus County Republican Executive Committee (CCREC) is the governing body of the Republican Party of Citrus County. The goal of our committee members is to be able to effectively educate, inform and mobilize Republican voters.

How Did the CCREC Begin?

Citrus County (like all counties) is divided into precincts for purposes of elections and voting. The CCREC was originally made up of one man and one woman from each precinct, otherwise known as Precinct Committeeman and Precinct Committeewoman. When a precinct grows to exceed 1000 voters it is entitled to two Precinct Committeemen and two Precinct Committeewomen (one man and one woman for every 1000 voters).

WHAT DOES THE CCREC HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH?

The goal of a committee member is to be able to effectively mobilize Republican voters in that precinct in order to get out the vote, disseminate the Republican message, make sure neighbors and friends are registered, and in turn, be your community’s voice in the Republican Executive Committee.

WHAT DOES THE CCREC DO?

The committee meets at least 6 times per year, on a monthly basis. During the meetings, the committee votes on various matters, adopts resolutions and recommendations. During election season the CCREC becomes the center for information on everything from issues and candidates to mobilization of volunteers and all other such matters of interest to active Republicans.

Every two years, the CCREC membership chooses its Executive Board (Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer) from among its membership body.

Every four years the committee expires and a new one is sworn in after being elected by the Republican voters of the county. Any eligible registered Republican may choose to run for the CCREC for his/her precinct every four-years, and is voted onto the CCREC by the Republican voters of his/her precinct. If there is a vacancy in one’s precinct between elections, one may choose to join the CCREC by filling said vacancy.
